10:20 pm	it occured to me earlier today that I am an info-whore. I can't get enough. I awaus feel like there is an angle I haven't seen yet. Or that something is going on that i should know about. Tensions in China. Fighting in the Middle East. Canadian Lumber. Labour Movements all across Canada, something like over thrity-five THOUSAND people are on strike right now. Stem cell research. Trangenic fish. And there is still more going on. And for some reason I NEED to know. My mom, she doesn't care. My brother, he doesn't care. Most of friends don't care. Maybe I feel that I have a desire to know what is going on, becuase so many people don't? (Comment on this)

11:56 pm	An interesting adventure, this live journal. I'm currently working on an essay about the fieldwork experiences and interpretations in ethnographic writing. So far all of the sources I've read about this have said: You can spend years in the field, but you can't write an ethnography without a healthy dose of imagination. In that case can ethnography ever truly represent a foreign culture? Perhaps, works like Robert F. Murphy's The Body Silent show the promise. Murphy writes from personal experience, he is not only the ethnographer but also a member of the culture. I think that is the only situation that can make a true ethnography.
